We do not use typodonts, pig jaws or cadavers. All third molar training is done with live patients. The maximum class size is six dentists.
ETMR training is done by Dr. Wayland, course director. Each participant works directly with Dr. Wayland for every patient. Each dentist removes eight bony impactions and assists eight bony impactions under Dr. Wayland’s direct one-to-one supervision. The small class size allows each dentist to ask questions and learn at their own pace.
Case selection is key to successful third molar removal. Age is everything when removing third molars. Teenager bone is elastic. Older patient bone is like concrete. Dentists should remove third molars before they are fully developed.
This affordable, six-dentist course is presented over three days. Day one begins observing Dr. Wayland remove impacted third molars. The procedures can be viewed directly or on a high-resolution monitor. Participants can ask questions and interact with Dr. Wayland during the procedure. The cases are presented step by step following Dr. Wayland’s seven-step protocol.
Course dentists then perform actual impacted third molar surgeries themselves with Dr. Wayland assisting one-to-one for each patient.
Stop referring out wisdom teeth. Your patients want to stay in your office.
Benefits
Benefits of ETMR for Your Office and Patients
Patient Selection Is the Key
- When guidelines are observed, third molars can be removed safely, comfortably and predictably.
- Erupted third molars are difficult to clean, leading to periodontal disease.
- Impacted third molars can develop cysts, tumors and other pathology.
- Patients are getting a good service that can avoid serious future surgical complications.
- Pericoronitis can be extremely painful.
- The procedure is profitable: one ETMR patient per month ($3000) would produce $36,000 per year.
- Insurance covers these procedures.
- You can continue to refer older patients, difficult extractions and maxillofacial procedures.
- Patients are happy that you can do the procedure and they can stay in your office.
- Your happy surgical patients will refer their friends and family.
